Hello Reader,

I had a lengthy email prepared for this final newsletter of 2024, but I decided to change course. Because I want to end the year on a note of gratitude that relates to your business.

Let me start with a question: Do you know the “lineage” of your clients?

Since building my WordPress design and consulting agency in 2008, I’ve relied almost entirely on primary and secondary referrals. This has given me a unique insight into the lineage of my clients.

You might recall, Beth Anne Rankin, when we were on a call and I shared your client lineage:

Deborah Donndelinger > Lynne Shaner > Krista Carman > Beth Anne

This chain of connections then led to Brian Mefford and Kathleen Lennard, Ed.D. Similarly, Jill Leigh, whose virtual assistant found me via Google, has been a client for over a decade, with many clients tracing their lineage back to her.

If you’re familiar with Bert Hellinger’s Family Constellation work, you’ll understand the importance of honoring family lineage for healthy family systems. This therapeutic approach aims to reveal hidden dynamics in families or relationships, addressing stressors and promoting healing. A crucial aspect of this is honoring your legacy and lineage.

I believe it’s the same for our businesses.

The more we remember and honor the lineage of our clients — what enables us to have a thriving sustainable business — the healthier and more productive our business becomes.

So here are a few easy ways to honor your client lineage:

  1. Map Your Client Lineage: Visualize your client connections to see and understand how they've influenced your business growth.
  2. Express Gratitude: Regularly acknowledge and thank your clients for their trust and referrals. A simple email or personalized message can go a long way.
  3. Amplify Client Success: Share your clients’ success stories to enhance their visibility and credibility. This not only helps them but also builds a stronger community around your business.

So, as 2024 comes to a close, I invite you to reflect:

Do you know your client lineage? If so, how do you honor the individual clients within it?

Welcome to Winter 🌨️

It’s been a year! I've spend the last few months in the "dark room" defining how I intend to show up in 2025 — both in life and in business. This includes shaping a fresh content strategy for LinkedIn and exploring Substack as a platform for more personal writing.

I'm also planning to return to a long ago childhood fantasy passion ... photography. Specifically, I'm going to dive deep into video creation as a personal hobby and am excited to learn how to actually use all those amazing camera features on my new iPhone 16 Pro!

What about you? How’s your year wrapping up? And how do you see yourself in 2025?

Hit reply and share your reflections, plans, or anything on your mind. I’d love to hear from you.

Thanks for reading. Until next year!
